Ketoconazole for Pets - (kee-toe-kah-na-zole) - Azole Antifungal
Same active ingredient as Nizoral® Uses - Ketoconazole is used to treat histoplasmosis, and several other fungal infections in dogs, cats and other small species. Ketoconazole is also used in the treatment of hyperadrenocorticism / Cushing's disease in dogs.
*Note- Ketoconazole is to some extent contentious in cats and is not advocated by some veterinarians because of possible toxicity.
