Trilostane for Dogs and Cats - (Trye-low-stane) - Adrenal Steroid Synthesis Inhibitor
Same active ingredient as Vetoryl®
Uses - Trilostane is an adrenal steroid synthesis inhibitor that can be used to treat both adrenal and pituitary dependent Cushing’s disease in dogs. Trilostane can also be used in feline pituitary dependent hyperadrenocorticism.
Pet Owner Info - (1) Pets on Trilostane should have Prednisone tablets at home for emergencies, in the event of a rapid drop in cortisol levels. (2) Patients on Trilostane should have an ACTH stimulation test periodically. (3) Give we with food, unless otherwise directed by veterinarian.
